What is the difference btw a Lifestyle & Catalogue shoot?

The two main types of commercial photography serve different purposes. Catalog images are often used in company's retail documents & online stores. They are clean images with a white or simple background, shot with professional lighting set ups. They serve to show and demonstrate the product from all angles. Lifestyle images serve to sell the product by showing it in a real life setup & styled environment. It also shows how to interact with the product and how it can benefit the user. Lifestyle images are great to use on Social Channels, print and in advertising.

What are S&E Collab shoots?

Salt & Earth Collaborations are for like minded businesses with the same audience who would like to team up & split the cost of a Commercial session. These sessions are great for cross pollination marketing campaigns & to create shared content for the audience to engage with all participating brands.

What is involved in a Product Flat lay shoot?

Flat Lay photoshoots are styled product shoots, mainly photographed with a bird's eye view of your range on a flat backdrop. It involves mock up plans for each shot and pops soured by the photographer.

Pricing + Booking

Where are you located & how do I book?

I am a nomadic creative and shoot all over South Africa. My main bases are JHB, PTA & CT ~ kindly request available dates & packages via enquiry (please see contact page)

What are the terms of payment?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your photoshoot & venue. The final amount is due 3 days before the shoot via eft or cash on day in a marked envelope. Dates will only be reserved for 48 hours. Your booking will be secured upon receipt of your deposit.

Is there a rescheduling/cancelation fee?

R1500 of your full amount is our booking charge - this fee is non refundable or transferable in the case of cancelation or reschedule. This includes medical reasons & emergencies for postponing/cancelling your session. Reschedule - There is a studio/venue charge & a Booking fee required to secure a new date. Kindly note that we do not refund rescheduled sessions. Cancelation/refund - R150 administrative fee for refund & client will incur the loss of original booking fee. All cancelations must be notified within 48 hours of booking date to qualify for refund.

Photoshoot Prep

What should we wear to our photoshoot?

A couple of beautiful moodboards will be sent to you before your session to help inspire you in preparing for your session.

Will hair, make-up & outfits be included?

Hair, make-up & outfits are for client's own account. We will send you a list of our favourite brands and service providers in the industry.


When will we receive our images?

We will email you a link to your gallery 2-3 weeks after your session. 'Early Release - 5 day turn around' of images can be arranged at additional fee.

When do our additional prints, albums & canvases arrive?

For albums: we will email you a draft to approve 5 days after your order has been placed & paid for. All additional prints, albums & canvases will arrive 4 weeks after payment is received & your order has been approved & processed.
